Detailed Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival in Sawantwadi

Upon arrival at your home-stay in Sawantwadi, you will be warmly welcomed by your Indian host family with a traditional garland and tikka. Your hosts will then assist you with the registration procedure and show you to your room. Upon settling in you will be taken around the home-stay property and given the opportunity to meet and mingle with your host family. After getting to know one another you will have a delicious lunch together. After lunch you can rest for a while. After your afternoon tea, you can visit the palace and later take a walk in the market. In the evening you will enjoy another home cooked dinner and of course a truly relaxing nights’ sleep.

DAY 2: Puppetry & Rangoli Design Workshop

Wake up and enjoy the warmth of a home made Indian breakfast prepared caringly by your host family.  Today morning you will spend time interacting with the rangoli artists. Rangoli is the art of designing with coloured powder.  The artsist will take thru the journey on how the simple designing has undergone change over the period of time. Lunch will be at the home stay.

After your meal you will head out to the Pinguli Art Gallery. This art complex aims to showcase, revive and promote a dying folk art tradition by creating a platform for the artist and his community to pursue the age old craft of puppetry and to open avenues for artistic and creative exchange with participants from across the globe. After a touring of the complex you can sit down and view an original puppet show by local artists. After the display, you will head back to your home-stay. In the evening you will be invited to dine with your host family and enjoy another succulent dinner.

DAY 3: Dolphin Cruise

Today early morning, you will be heading out for an exciting trip of dolphin watching! A boat will take you out into the deep see where you will soon be surrounded by beautiful dolphins. Spend the morning at sea before heading back to your home-stay for a flavourful Indian lunch and siesta. Evening at leisure.

DAY 4: Departure from Sawantwadi

Today you can sleep in and wake up to have a relaxed breakfast with your host family. After you finish your meal it will be time to pack up your belongings, say your goodbyes to your gracious host family and depart for your onward journey home, surely with many wonderful memories from your trip.
