ITINERARY - Day trip @ LEPAKSHI* (110 kms from Bangalore)
Mode of transport: Private vehicle (tour starts at Lepakshi) or if a big group**, then Culture Aangan will organize a bus.
● 7:00 hrs: Assembly point is Bangalore. Our logistics and transportation are subjected to bookings and we will keep you informed on any change in the current convergence point. Our tour representative will partner with you for the rest of the day. Stay Relaxed!
● 9:30 hrs: Arrive at Lepakshi. We time our arrival at Lepakshi in Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Guest House. Your rural experience starts with a warm welcome from the coordinator of Lepakshi village tourism committee. Refreshments of local snacks and chai in rustic environment will invigorate and make you attentive for an exciting briefing on various aspects of rural tourism and its benefits to the local community by the coordinator.
● 10:00 hrs: A visit to the Silk Route! The highlight of this excursion is to experience, upfront, the dying art of Silk Weaving. Our coordinator will ensure your walk in to the memory lane and introduce you to the sole practioner of this art, an art inherited from generations. The art of weaving and handloom is in the DNA of Lepakshi. It will be an exciting encounter for you to interact with the history and make one. We wish you a good weaving session, if you get lucky but for sure you will see and learn the process of weaving and dyeing. You can shop Silk Sarees from the Masters.
● 13:00 hrs: Your efforts will be worth it! Enjoy a fantastic rural meal, cooked and served by a village host. You will relish the taste and hospitality of your meals in the house of a local village friend. Mealtime offers an opportunity for you to discuss and learn the village way of life from your host. Lunch will be Veg/Non.Veg fare.
● 14:00 hrs: Reminiscing Vijaynagar Empire! The architectural landscape is a feat displaying remarkable and glorious past. The Veerbhadra Temple is the signature of a civilization; our coordinator will introduce a guide to the team for us to glimpse the history without a time machine.
● 16:00 hrs: A quick bite and chai to refuel is a must.
● 16:30 hrs: The eye of an eagle! It’s important to have a bird’s eye view on any situation. Our trip is concluding but not without a retrospection. At Jatayu theme park you will be treated to a hill top view of the entire village, its houses, fields, the Nandi and Veerbhadra Swamy temple itself.
● 17:30 hrs: Depart towards Bangalore.
